The Stuart Clarke Cup

The Wheatsheaf Inn is pleased to host the Stuart Clarke Cup for the second time. It’s a doubles competition open to all WPA members - we particularly hope that new members take the opportunity to come along for this good natured event.

Food will be available at lunchtime, and the bar will be open throughout (Marje will be ordering extra cider for the day!). We are hoping to prise someone out of bed early enough to make us bacon butties for breakfast too – I’ll let you know whether we will be able to kick-start your day with a bit of fry.

The Stuart Clarke Cup proved to be very popular last year, and – as we’re limited in the amount of pistes available – we’re making it pre-entry only this time. We will confirm whether you have a place on receipt of your entry fee & entry form.

The Practicalities….

Entry fee - £8 per team (cheques to ‘Welsh Petanque Association’) by 11/9/05
Registration - 10.00-10.15am, for 10.30am start.
Directions - follow signs to Caerleon. Follow one-way system to mini roundabout (between 2 pubs -Minstrels and the Angel). Take road signed to Usk & Llangibby. After approx. 1 mile turn right, up the hill to Llanhennock. Bear left, and you will arrive at the ‘Sheaf.
